Electrolux lines we see most
Know your Electrolux
600 and 700 Series front-load laundry
The current 27-inch washers (ELFW7637 is the common one) premix detergent and water in a SmartBoost tank, take pods or liquid through the Adaptive Dispenser, and make steam for Perfect Steam cycles. The matching ELFE electric and ELFG gas dryers use LuxCare Dry moisture sensors and Predictive Dry. Extra valves, a premix tank and steam parts mean more to fail than on a plain front-loader.
Older EFLS, EIFLS and EWFLS washers with EFME, EFDE, EIMED and EIED dryers
These are the Electrolux laundry pairs from before the current series, and plenty are still running. Same basic layout as today: a drain pump at the bottom front behind a small access door, a rubber boot seal around the door opening, a belt-driven drum on a rear bearing. Have the full model number from the tag inside the door when you call, because the parts catalog matches by exact model.
French-door and single-door refrigerators, wine and beverage coolers
Today's Electrolux fridges have the TasteLock Plus crisper, a TempAdapt drawer you can set anywhere from minus 6 to 45 degrees, and the filtered-water dispenser inside rather than through the door. Each of those is another sensor, damper or water line that a basic fridge does not have. The wine coolers, with their wide walnut shelving, are the brand's beverage line.
Built-in dishwashers: EDSH4944 and EDSP4944 now, EW24ID and EI24ID before
Electrolux currently lists two 24-inch stainless-tub built-ins, both with SmartBoost. The earlier Wave-Touch (EW24ID) and IQ-Touch (EI24ID) models used the SatelliteSpray lower arm, a second small arm spinning on the end of the main one, with Luxury-Glide racks.
Induction, gas and dual-fuel ranges and cooktops
Slide-in and front-control ranges in 30 and 36 inch widths with True Convection, which adds a third heating element and a fan. The gas tops use dual brass burners; the electric and induction tops can bridge two elements for a griddle.
Single, double and microwave-combination wall ovens
The current wall ovens carry Air Sous Vide, Steam Bake and Steam Roast, an Air Fry mode and the Electrolux Connect app, which preheats the oven from your phone. A steam mode and a connected control panel mean more electronics behind the door than an older oven had, and that is where the odd faults tend to sit.
ICON (discontinued)
ICON was the earlier premium line, with its own Designer Series. Dealers now list it as obsolete. Plenty of ICON ovens, cooktops and fridges are still in service; if yours is one, have the full model number ready when you call.
What fails
What actually breaks on Electrolux appliances
- 1
Front-load washer will not drain, or stops with water in the drum
The drain pump sits at the bottom front behind a small door, with a trap in front of it that catches coins, hair pins and the odd sock. A clogged trap drains slowly; a pump whose motor has failed hums and does nothing; a broken impeller moves no water. The pump is replaced as an assembly. Emptying the trap comes first, and it often finds the coin.
- 2
Water on the floor in front of the washer
The door boot is the rubber bellows between the door and the drum. It tears where the door edge rubs it, and it grows mold in the fold where water sits. A torn boot is replaced as a whole ring. Water can also come from the pump housing or a loose hose clamp, so the leak is traced before a part is named.
- 3
A roar or grinding noise on the high spin
That is the drum bearing behind the tub. Water gets past the seal, the bearing rusts, and the noise grows every week. It is one of the three most common Electrolux front-loader failures, along with the pump and the boot. Replacing it means taking the drum out, so the technician gives you the full price at your home and lets you weigh it against the age of the machine.
- 4
Dryer shuts off mid-cycle, or shows a vent warning
One dryer repair in Great Falls was an Electrolux that kept shutting off mid-cycle and showing a vent error. That is one of three calls we get for Electrolux dryer repair; the others are a squealing drum and a burning smell. A lint-packed duct or a crushed hose makes the dryer run hot, and its thermal protection, a fuse or a high-limit thermostat, stops the cycle. A blown fuse needs replacing, and the vent has to be cleared too or it happens again. The squeal is usually the rear drum bearing or the idler pulley; the smell is usually lint on the heater.

French-door fridge ice maker stops making ice, or leaks
The first-generation ice maker in Electrolux French-door bottom-freezer models built between November 2008 and May 2011 had a known design fault that stopped it making ice or made it leak. On later units the usual causes are a frozen fill tube, a failed water inlet valve, or the ice maker head itself. The technician tells you which before anything is touched.
- 6
Dishwasher will not drain, or leaves water in the bottom
The fine and coarse sump filters under the lower arm catch glass and food and block first. Behind them the drain pump fails outright, or its impeller breaks. The drain hose needs its high loop, and a control board that stops sending power to the pump looks the same from the outside as a dead pump, so the pump is tested before a board is blamed.
- 7
Oven will not heat, runs the wrong temperature, or the door stays locked
On a gas range the igniter weakens with age and glows without lighting the burner. On electric ovens it is the bake element or the temperature sensor; a sensor out of range makes the oven overshoot or bake cold. On the wall ovens the control board sits behind the panel and takes the heat, and the door lock motor can stick after a self-clean cycle. Sensor and element are checked before a board is replaced.
By appliance
Electrolux appliances we repair
- Electrolux washer repair Front-load only. The SmartBoost premix tank, Adaptive Dispenser and steam cycle add valves and a tank to the usual drain pump, door boot and drum bearing.
- Electrolux dryer repair ELFE electric and ELFG gas, with LuxCare Dry moisture sensors and a steam option. Vent warnings, mid-cycle stops, a squealing drum and burning smells are the usual faults.
- Electrolux refrigerator repair French-door and single-door, with the TasteLock Plus crisper, a TempAdapt drawer and an inside water dispenser. Ice makers and the dispenser water line are the weak spots.
- Electrolux dishwasher repair 24-inch built-ins. The sump filters, drain pump, control board and spray arms are what fail. Today's models use SmartBoost; the older Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch units used the SatelliteSpray arm.
- Electrolux range repair Induction, gas and dual-fuel slide-ins with True Convection. Igniters, bake elements and the temperature sensor are the usual repairs.
- Electrolux oven repair Single, double and microwave-combination wall ovens with Air Sous Vide, steam modes and the Connect app. Sensor, control board and door-lock faults.
- Electrolux cooktop repair Gas tops with dual brass burners; electric and induction tops with a bridge feature. Burner valves and igniters on gas, the power board on induction.
- Electrolux wine cooler repair Electrolux sells wine and beverage coolers with wide walnut shelving. Not cooling, running non-stop, a noisy fan or a door that no longer seals are the usual faults.
- Electrolux ice maker repair The ice maker in the 2008 to 2011 French-door units had a known design fault. On any Electrolux fridge the fill tube, the inlet valve and the ice maker head are where the fault usually sits.

FAQ
Electrolux repair: frequently asked questions
Do you repair Electrolux, or only Frigidaire?
Both. They come from the same company, share a parts catalog, and often share the part itself. The Electrolux line carries more sensors, boards and steam parts, so the diagnosis is a little more involved, but the visit works the same way.
Is FixDaddy an Electrolux authorized service company?
No. FixDaddy is an independent repair company, not affiliated with or authorized by Electrolux. If your appliance is still under the maker's warranty, call Electrolux first. Out of warranty, we repair it, and every repair we do carries a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty of its own.
How much does an Electrolux repair cost?
There is no repair price before the visit, because nobody knows the part until the machine is open. Our visit fee is $89. The technician finds exactly what's wrong and gives you the full repair price at your home, no pressure. If you go ahead, the $89 counts toward the repair.
My Electrolux dryer keeps stopping and shows a vent warning. Is it the dryer or the vent?
Often both. A restricted duct makes the dryer run hot, and its thermal protection trips to stop it. Once a thermal fuse has blown it has to be replaced, and you have to clean the dryer vent as well, or the new fuse goes the same way. The technician finds which it is at the machine and tells you before anything is touched.
Can you get parts for an older Electrolux or an ICON model?
Electrolux and Frigidaire share a parts network, so most Electrolux parts are easy to get. Common ones are carried on the truck; the rest are ordered and the technician returns to fit them. ICON is discontinued, so have the full model number from the tag ready when you call.
My Electrolux French-door fridge stopped making ice. Is that the known problem?
If it was built between late 2008 and spring 2011, possibly: the first-generation ice maker in those units had a known design fault. On newer units the fault is usually a frozen fill tube, a failed inlet valve or the ice maker head. The technician tells you which at your home before anything is replaced.
How soon can you come out for an Electrolux repair?
Someone answers the phone 24/7, and same-day Electrolux service is possible most days. You get a 2-hour arrival window and a call about 15 minutes before the technician arrives, anywhere in our service area, from Leesburg to Silver Spring.
