Arlington, Northern Virginia
Washer repair in Arlington, VA starts with one of a few faults: the washer won't drain, won't spin, stops mid-cycle with the door locked, leaks, or bangs and walks in spin. We fix them on top-load, front-load, compact and stacked washers from LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Bosch and Speed Queen, in the condo closets of Ballston, Rosslyn and Crystal City and the basements of Cherrydale and Lyon Village.

Washers in Arlington
Many Arlington washers live in a closet, not a laundry room. Along the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and in Crystal City that means a stacked pair, a compact front-loader or a one-piece laundry center on a concrete floor, and the machine has to be unstacked or pulled out before anyone can reach the drain pump or the shocks. The one-piece units have their own laundry center repair page. In Fairlington and Colonial Village, garden condos both, the hookup is squeezed into space never meant for it, and in the houses of Cherrydale and Lyon Village the washer sits in the basement on old pipes.
Rules come with the laundry closet. Many high-rises want notice before a supply line is opened, some keep the shut-off valve outside your unit, and many ask for steel-braided hoses and a pan under the machine, because the floor below is someone else's ceiling. If the washer is leaking, shut both wall valves before you call. When you book, tell us whether it is a stacked pair or a one-piece laundry center, and whether the closet doors come off. If the dryer on top is acting up too, say so: with dryer repair booked for the same visit, the pair only has to come apart once.
A washer that washes and then leaves the load soaking has rarely lost its motor. On a top-loader the usual cause is a lid lock that never catches, so the control refuses to spin; on a front-loader a slow drain pump leaves water in the drum and the spin is called off. A Maytag washer in Arlington did exactly that: it washed a full load and never advanced to spin, and our Maytag washer repair page covers that brand. An LG washer here walked across the floor in spin and threw an unbalanced-load fault. Leveling feet and worn shock absorbers are the usual suspects; the LG washer repair page lists the others.
In Cherrydale, Lyon Village and the streets off Langston Boulevard the washer is often in the basement, fed by old pipe and draining into a utility sink or a narrow standpipe. Old pipe sheds grit into the inlet screens, hard water adds scale on top, and the fill slows until the control times out; cleaning the screens cures a slow fill more often than a new valve does. A narrow standpipe cannot always keep up with a modern pump, and the water ends up on the floor. Neither is a reason to replace the machine. Our main washer repair page goes through the other common faults.

The is my 2nd time using FixDaddy. The first time was to repair my LG washing machine. This time it was to repair my Creda gas stove. Scheduling was easy. They showed up on time. Provided excellent service. I will use them again.

June 2026 · dryer
Very professional service. Quick to respond to request and came when they said. Though I didn't have them fix my issue (I realized I should probably just buy a new dryer as there were some unknowns) there was no hard sell of any extra service.

FAQ
Yes. Stacked pairs, one-piece laundry centers and all-in-one washer-dryer combos are all machines we repair. Tell us when you book which one you have and whether the closet doors come off; that decides what the technician brings. Our technicians have five to ten years of experience in appliance repair.
Most days we can come the same day. You get a 2-hour arrival window and a call about 15 minutes before the technician arrives. Someone answers the phone 24/7, so call whenever the washer stops. We cover the whole county, and the neighbourhoods are listed on our appliance repair in Arlington page.
Turn off both wall valves and unplug the machine. Do not force the door on a front-loader; the lock holds because there is water behind it. If you want the clothes out, many front-loaders have a small drain hose behind the little door at the bottom, and a shallow pan under it will empty the drum a little at a time. Otherwise leave it as it is for the technician.
Usually, if the drum bearing is fine. Pumps, locks, belts, valves, shocks and gaskets are all normal repairs on a machine that is otherwise sound; a roaring drum bearing is the fault that most often makes a new machine the better answer. We never quote a repair price before we have seen the machine. Our visit fee is $89, the technician gives you the full repair price at your home with no pressure, and if you go ahead the $89 counts toward the repair.
It does not ruin them, but it shapes what breaks. The water here is hard. It scales the heating element, crusts the inlet screens and makes detergent leave gray residue in the door gasket and the pump. Use a little less detergent, not more, run a hot empty cycle now and then, and leave the door open between loads. Most compact front-loaders heat their own water, so scale reaches them first; if yours is a Bosch, see Bosch washer repair.
Yes. The call about 15 minutes before arrival is there so you can let the desk know the technician is on the way. We come in uniform with shoe covers and floor protection. If the building wants a loading dock or a freight elevator booked, tell us when you call; the 2-hour window gives you something firm to book it against.
Every repair has a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. If the same fault comes back inside 90 days, call and we come back to it. Payment is on completion, and the invoice comes by email or text.
